Police have reported that a conversation about a pair of tennis shoes led to the physical attack and stabbing murder of the victim.  Law enforcement credit video evidence and the cooperation of Idaho Law Enforcement led to the arrests of two suspects. Ontario Police said the Nampa Police Department made the arrests Sunday night around 8 p.m.  The suspects are now being held in the Canyon County Jail.

Police said that this was a random crime and had nothing to do with the legalization of recreational marijuana in Ontario, Oregon.  Police say this appears to be a random act of violence.  They say that this was the first incident of gang activity that police have noticed outside of tagging.   One suspect will be charged with assault one and the other will be charged with murder one in the first degree.  Search warrants are currently pending in the case.  Police say it will be up to the grand jury on when the charges will be officially filed.  OPD is working on an extradition order to bring those suspects back to Oregon.

Ontario, Oregon has seen a large number of marijuana dispensaries since the city voted to allow the sale of recreational Weed.  Idaho Governor Brad Little has vowed to keep Idaho free from The Weed.  Recently the Idaho Legislature passed a bill that would allow Hemp to be grown and transported legally in the Gem State.  That bill is currently working its way through the legislative process.
